The Rock Bug: Everything But Electronics

Worked on the links, shocks, and transmission.  The Rock Bug is a Roller, all it needs now is to install the Electronic Speed Controller(ESC), Radio Controller Receiver(RX), and Lipo Battery Pack to be a Runner.

Just got started with the Rock Bug

Here is a mock-up, to get a better visual on overall stance.  The Rock Bug chassis was custom crafted by  Josh aka The HULK.  Quite a spectacle in person, the chassis was built from pictures of 1:1 as reference.  The chassis was re-designed to look Great and Perform, as well.

Spidertrax Rock Bug

I'm such a huge fan of Rock Crawling and love watching video clips of Extreme Rock Crawlers in Action. Youtube got a good number of clips on this topic and the best are videos from The King of the Hammer (KOH) and W.E. Rock Competitions in the US. A couple of months back, I came across a bunch of video clips of the 2009 W.E. Rock National Competition. Spidertrax entry, Tracy Jordan drove "The Rock Bug" extremely well, and captured the top post for the Unlimited Class. It was a sparkling performance, inspiring enough to get me thinking of doing a 1.9 scale version of this Bad Ass Bug.
